Historic elements meet contemporary details in this dreamy Ridgewood colonial
This dreamy colonial is located at the end of a tree-lined, dead-end street in the heights of beautiful Ridgewood, New Jersey. With lush greenery, little traffic and large land parcels, the home site has near-perfect privacy and aesthetics.
Create our clients’ dream home. The existing 2,600-square-foot house was maintained poorly and too small. Our clients hired Jordan Rosenberg Architects to design a handsome 4,200-square-foot colonial-style home with six bedrooms and four baths that would be the envy of the street.
In just nine short months, RTH Building Company completed the exquisite custom build, which is a masterful marriage of historical accents and modern features, resulting in a final product that exudes polished elegance.
The exterior boasts a large front walkway with an inviting front porch. The roof’s painted cedar and slate-inspired asphalt shingles accent the home’s expansive windows, trims and sills. A turret adds a touch of stateliness to the grounds, and the back of the property features a cedar-covered patio with a built-in fireplace and entertainment center, complemented by a luxurious pool and manicured backyard.
The interior of the home features thoughtful design throughout, with an emphasis on balancing historic elements with elegant contemporary details. Inspired by century-old design, the home showcases inlaid hardwood floors, cove and dental mouldings, wall paneling, coffered ceilings, stunning built-ins and spiral staircases. With 10-foot ceilings throughout, this home feels light, airy and endlessly comfortable. Modern amenities complete the home with a spacious kitchen, walk-through closets, custom bathroom vanities, expansive two-panel doors, and beautifully stained, 5-inch hardwood floors. The home overall is at once comfortable, classy and decidedly different.
