Seated on 1.5 acres in the estate section of Montclair, New Jersey, this home was ready for a complete gut renovation to bring it up to date. The home’s original space wasn’t used properly and the homeowners sought a new look that would maintain the home’s historic integrity while modernizing the property. They asked RTH Building Company to reinvent their older home into a more open and inviting living space for their family of four. In only six months we welcomed our clients home to the warm, California-style Tudor of their dreams. The homeowners worked with RTH Building Company to completely renovate the home’s interior from top to bottom. That work began at the foundation, using expansive steel beams to create the bones of an extensive basement, and carried throughout the home to the upstairs suite with nodes to warmth and a neutral color palette.
