This center-hall colonial addition and renovation balances a bright, white palette with warm touches of leather and brass for a clean, modern feel.
This 1929 center hall colonial is located right in the heart of Montclair. After needing lots of love and care, it has become a charmed family home, catering to the playfulness of kids and maturity of adults.
When the clients came across this home in 2015, it was in disrepair and needed additional space. RTH Building Company happily signed on to greatly expand the first floor, add a small addition on the second floor, and redo the layout of the prior bedrooms. The homeowners wanted to keep the traditional feel of a colonial, but update the interior to be simple, with fun accents.
This two-story colonial is a traditional, yet modernized family home. The addition provides extra space in the public and private areas of the house. More room to entertain with friends and family on the first floor, and more spacious sleeping quarters on the second floor. The décor throughout the home is simple and clean with elements of surprise. Splashes of color are strategically placed around the home and accents of leather and brass add finesse.
Many aspects of this home are special to the client. There are antiques and pieces of furniture that have been passed down from family members, adding memories and sentimental value. Now these have a love-filled home where they can be on display for the homeowners and visiting guests. This center hall colonial that was built in 1929 was beautifully revamped and now is a spacious and stylish home for this fun-loving family.
